Day 1 : Istanbul
You're greeted upon landing in Istanbul and transferred to your hotel by a Neon Tours representative. Free afternoon.
Day 2 : Istanbul
Tour Topkapi Palace, residence of Ottoman sultans, the Hippodrome, site of chariot races, the Blue Mosque, famous for its colorful ceramics, and Saint Sophia, decorated with ancient frescoes. Enjoy the 3,000 shops in the Covered Bazaar. Overnight in Istanbul. (B,L)
Day 3 : Istanbul
Half-day tour of Dolmabahce Palace or a cruise on the Bosphorus, depending on weather conditions. Optional evening of Turkish cuisine and entertainment. (B)
Day 4 : Ankara - Cappadocia
Fly to Ankara to view Hittite artifacts at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk, father of modern Turkey. Drive to Cappadocia, touring a 13th century caravan inn en route. Overnight in Cappadocia. (B, L,D)
Day 5 : Cappadocia
Tour Goreme's rock chapels decorated with 6th century frescoes, Zelve's cliff-side Byzantine monastic complex and Uchisar's natural citadel. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : Cappadocia / Ankara - Izmir
Explore the eight-story underground city of Kaymakli where thousands of early Christians hid from persecutors. After lunch and shopping , drive to Ankara and board an evening flight to Izmir for overnight. (B,L)
Day 7 : Pamukkale - Izmir
Travel to Pamukkale's white lime cascades formed by hot mineral springs. After touring the Hierapolis Roman health spa ruins, return to Izmir for overnight. (B,L)
Day 8 : Ephesus & St. Mary's House / Izmir
Explore the Greco-Roman and Christian ruins of Ephesus. Visit the Virgin Mary's stone cottage before returning to Izmir for overnight (B,L)
Day 9:Izmir -Return
